Summer 2011 EHO JRCOSTEPS

Twenty two students from eleven different colleges and universities participated as part of the Junior Commissioned Officer Student Training and Extern Program (JRCOSTEP).

Twenty JRCOSTEPS participated under the Indian Health Service (IHS).  Narratives from these students can be found on the IHS Division of Environmental Health Services website (http://www.ihs.gov/nonmedicalprograms/dehs/costep/index.cfm)

Summer 2010 EHO JRCOSTEPS

More than 25 Students Participate as EHO JRCOSTEPS During 2010

The Indian Health Service (IHS), Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Coast Guard (USCG) called 25 undergraduate and graduate students to active duty as JRCOSTEPS during the summer of 2010.  Students were stationed in locations across the country and were able to experience life as a Junior EHO in the US Public Health Service.
